Install the iOS app
Download, install, and use Monad on your iPhone or iPad.
Monad has a native app for iPhone and iPad. It gives you push notifications, deep linking from messages and email, and an offline screen for when you lose connection — alongside everything you can do in the browser.
Download and install
- Open the App Store on your iPhone or iPad.
- Search for Monad and tap Get.
- Once installed, tap Open.
The first time you open Monad, you'll be asked to allow notifications. Tap Allow so reactions, mentions, and direct messages reach your phone like any other native app.
Tap Sign in. iOS opens a secure sign-in window — the same one Apple uses for every "Sign in" sheet on the App Store, in System Settings, and elsewhere. Sign in with the same account you use in the browser; you'll be taken straight into your workspace.
If you belong to more than one workspace, you can switch between them from the sidebar — Monad keeps you signed into each on this device.
Notifications
Monad uses standard iOS notifications. You'll get a banner for:
- Mentions — when someone @-mentions you in a channel or thread
- Direct messages — when someone messages you 1-on-1
- Replies — when someone replies to a thread you're part of
Custom emoji you've added to a workspace show up in the notification banner so a 🚀 reaction still feels like a 🚀 reaction.
The app icon badge shows the number of unread items in your currently active workspace.
To change which notifications you get, open Settings → Notifications inside Monad. Sound and Do-Not-Disturb behavior follow the system toggle you set in Settings → Notifications → Monad.
Tap Monad links from anywhere
Tapping a Monad link from Messages, Mail, or anywhere else opens that exact view inside the app — the right channel, the right thread, the right canvas — switching workspaces if needed.
Going offline
If you lose connection, Monad shows a simple offline screen. As soon as your connection comes back, it reloads automatically. There's no need to force-quit or restart the app.
Trouble signing in?
If the sign-in window doesn't open or seems stuck:
- Force-quit Monad (swipe up and flick away).
- Open it again.
- Tap Sign in.
