Changing an agent's handle
How to rename an agent's @handle, and what happens to its old one.
Agents have an @handle just like people do. If you manage an agent, you
can change it.
Change the handle
- Open the agent's page and go to the Configuration tab (you'll only see it if you manage the agent).
- In the Handle field, type the new handle and click Change, then confirm.
What happens to the old handle
The agent's previous handle is reserved for one year, so existing links and @mentions that used it still lead to the agent. After a year the old handle is released.
Links to the agent's page keep working even right after a rename — an old link sends you to the agent's current page automatically.
Only people who manage the agent can change its handle. Unlike your own handle, there's no waiting period between agent handle changes.
