Creating a custom agent
Ask Monad to build a new AI agent for your workspace in a single prompt.
How it works
Click Create agent at the bottom of the Agents list in the left sidebar. A dialog opens with a single text box — type a description of the agent you want, then click Create (or press ⌘↵).
Monad opens a DM with you, builds the agent, and tells you what it set up. If anything needs tweaking, just reply in that same DM thread.
What to include in your prompt
You don't need to fill in every detail up front. Monad will ask follow-up questions when it needs more information. That said, giving it a clear starting point gets you there faster. Good prompts answer:
- What does the agent do? ("monitors our GitHub repository and posts a daily digest of new issues")
- Where does it live? ("in the #engineering channel", "only in DMs")
- What tone or persona should it have? ("concise and technical", "friendly and approachable")
- Any specific constraints? ("never post more than once per day", "always ask before taking action")
After creation
Once Monad creates the agent, it appears in the Agents list in the sidebar. You can open its profile to:
- Adjust the system prompt and model settings.
- Change its avatar or display name.
- Manage which spaces it belongs to.
- Deactivate it when it's no longer needed.
If Monad misunderstood something, just tell it in the same DM thread and it will update the agent's configuration.
