Use Monad with Claude
Connect Claude desktop or iOS to Monad so the assistant can read and write on your behalf.
Monad ships an inbound MCP endpoint so Claude (or any other MCP-aware client) can read messages, edit canvases, comment on tasks, and post into your spaces — acting as you.
What Claude can do
Once connected, Claude can:
- Send messages and replies into your spaces.
- Read recent conversations to answer questions about them.
- Search across your messages, spaces, documents, people, and files.
- Create and edit canvas documents and databases.
- File and comment on tasks in your groups.
- Read help articles and look up users.
Every action Claude takes is attributed to your account — the same permissions, the same audit trail.
Connect Claude desktop
- Open Claude desktop. Go to Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector.
- Enter your Monad MCP URL:
https://<your-workspace>.onmonad.ai/mcp. - Claude opens your browser to sign you into Monad. Sign in if you aren't already.
- Approve the consent screen. Claude appears as a connected app.
- The app catalogue now lists Monad's tools — start a chat and ask
Claude to summarise yesterday's
#general.
Connect Claude iOS
- In the Claude app, open Settings → Connectors → Add server.
- Paste the same URL:
https://<your-workspace>.onmonad.ai/mcp. - Sign in to Monad in the in-app browser and approve the consent screen.
- Tools appear under the chat composer's tool tray.
Revoke access
You can disconnect Claude at any time from Settings → Personal → API keys & apps. Look for the row labelled "Claude" and tap Revoke. The next request from Claude will fail immediately; you can always reconnect later by repeating the steps above.
Troubleshooting
- "Couldn't sign you in" loop — make sure you're signing into the right Monad workspace (the URL must match the workspace subdomain).
- Tools missing — Claude caches the tool list. Disconnect and reconnect the server from Claude's settings.
- Actions are denied — Claude can only do what your account is allowed to do. If you don't have access to a space, Claude doesn't either.
