The composer companion
Meet the little alpaca that reacts while you write and send messages.
A small pixel-art alpaca perches on the message box and reacts as you write.
What it does
- Tilts its head when you click into the message box.
- Peeks down at your draft while you’re typing.
- Celebrates with a little hop when you send.
- Teleports to follow you — when you move to a different message box, it vanishes from the old one and reappears at the new one, either in a little puff of smoke or by zipping through a swirling wormhole (chosen at random).
It’s purely for fun. It never gets in your way — clicks pass straight through to the message box behind it.
Turning it off
Don’t want it? Go to Settings → Preferences and switch off Composer companion. It’ll disappear everywhere.
Where it shows up
The companion appears on larger screens only. On phones and narrow windows it stays hidden so it never crowds the message box.
Multiple windows
If you have Monad open in more than one tab, each window has its own companion that reacts only to what you’re doing in that window.
Reduced motion
If your device is set to reduce motion, the companion stays calm: it skips its idle animations, and when it moves between message boxes it simply appears in the new spot instead of playing the smoke or wormhole effect.
