Credits & how billing works

Your workspace runs on prepaid AI credit. As your agents and tools do work, they draw down your balance. You can see it any time under Settings → Billing.

Prepaid credit applies to the Plus plan. If your workspace is on Pro or Enterprise, you're billed monthly instead — see Plans & how you're billed.

Your $50 welcome credit#

Every new workspace starts with $50 in free AI credit — no card required. You can use every paid feature right away; the balance simply counts down as you use it.

What draws down credit#

Your usage has two parts, and both draw from the same balance:

• Agent runtime — the time your agents spend working, and the main thing you pay for. When an agent runs, you're charged for how long that run takes — from the moment it starts to the moment it finishes, including any time it spends waiting on a tool or a connector — at the per-hour rate of its model tier, billed by the second. You're no longer charged per token for the thinking itself. Pricing agents by the time they work makes them easy to reason about as cheaper digital labor: an hour of agent work runs from about $2 to $10 depending on the tier.
• AI usage — web search and page reads, document understanding, and search indexing your agents use. These tools are billed separately when your agents use them.

Each item shows up in your Recent activity list so you can see where credit went, and your Settings → Billing page breaks your current period into AI usage and Agent runtime so you can see both at a glance.

Every agent run is bounded — no single run can run longer than its built-in time limit, so a runaway agent can't quietly burn your balance.

When credit expires#

• Your welcome credit and any credit you buy expire one year after they're added.
• If your workspace gets a monthly credit allowance, that credit is use-it-or-lose-it: it expires at the end of the calendar month it was given and doesn't roll over. (Not every workspace has a monthly allowance — if yours doesn't, you won't see monthly credit in your activity.)

Credit you paid for is always used last, so your free credit is always spent first. Anything still unused when it expires is removed from your balance.

Topping up#

When you're ready to add more, open Settings → Billing, enter an amount (the minimum top-up is $20), and choose Add credit. You'll be taken to a secure checkout and your balance updates as soon as the payment completes.

Running low#

• At a low balance you'll see a reminder banner.
• If you run out, you'll be prompted to add credit — top up, or let auto-recharge add more for you automatically.

To avoid interruptions entirely, turn on auto-recharge.
