Guest invite links

Share a single link that lets anyone join as a guest, confined to the channels you choose.

A guest invite link is a single, shareable URL that lets anyone who has it join your workspace as a guest — dropped straight into the channels you picked, and nothing else. It's the self-serve version of adding a guest: instead of typing one email at a time, you hand out one link to a whole client team, paste it behind a "Try it" button, or print it as a QR code at an event.

Like every guest, people who join through a link are free, are confined to only the channels on the link, and can't re-share or pull anyone else in.

Go to Settings → Guest links and choose Create link. You'll set:

  • Name — just for you, so you can tell your links apart later ("Acme client portal", "Conference lounge").
  • Channels — the exact channels anyone using this link will join. Pick one or several. They'll see nothing else.
  • Require admin approval (optional) — when on, people who use the link don't get in right away. Their request waits in a queue until you (or any admin) approve it.
  • Bot challenge (optional) — adds a quick "are you human?" check on the join page to cut down on automated sign-ups.
  • Max uses (optional) — cap how many people can join. Leave it blank for unlimited.
  • Expires (optional) — set a date after which the link stops working.

When you create the link, we show you the URL once. Copy it right then — for security we don't store it, so it can't be shown again. If you lose it, just create a new link and revoke the old one.

The join page greets them with your workspace's logo and name, so it's clear who's inviting them before they enter anything.

  • Someone new enters their email, gets a verification message, and becomes a guest in your link's channels once they confirm it.
  • Someone who's already signed in to your workspace simply confirms, and the channels are added to what they already have — their role never changes.
  • Someone whose email already belongs to an account here is asked to log in first, then confirm — we never create a duplicate account.
  • If the link requires approval, the person enters their email and then waits — they get no access until an admin approves the request, at which point we email them a link to finish joining.

Approving requests

If a link requires approval, requests show up under Pending requests on the same page, where any admin can Approve or Reject them. Approving admits the person as a guest in the link's channels; rejecting declines them. Admins get a notification when a new request comes in.

The list shows each link's name, its channels, how many times it's been used (and the cap, if any), when it expires, and how many requests are waiting. To turn a link off, choose Revoke — that stops anyone new from joining. Revoking doesn't remove guests who already joined; to remove someone, take them out of the channel or the workspace as usual.

Cost

People who join through a guest link are guests, so they're free — they never count toward your paid seats.
